Northwest Surveying & GPS, Inc. was founded by Denny DeMeyer in 1984. Denny is a lifelong (62 year) native of Whatcom County, graduating from Ferndale High School in 1967 and Everett Community College with an Associate Degree in Forest Technology in 1969. He passed the land surveyor’s exam and received his surveyor’s license in 1983. A resume of his work experience follows:

• 1969 to 1974: Forest Technician; Bellingham Division of Georgia Pacific Corporation
• 1974 to 1983: Assistant Logging Engineer; Georgia Pacific Corp., Bellingham.
• 1983 to 1988: Land Surveyor and Senior Logging Engineer for Georgia Pacific Corporation and owner/sole proprietor, Northwest Surveying, Lynden, Washington.
• 1984 to present: Owner: Northwest Surveying & GPS, Inc., Lynden, Washington.

• Denny has been honored as the Washington State “Surveyor of the Year” by the Land Surveyors Association of Washington (L.S.A.W.), the only surveyor in Whatcom County to hold that distinction. Mr. DeMeyer has also taught numerous seminars on historical surveys and survey methods in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Illinois, California and Nevada. He is currently serving on the board of directors of the National Museum of Surveying in Springfield, IL, the United States David Thompson Bicentennial Partnership, the 2011 David Thompson Columbia Brigade and as State Chairman of the Land Surveyors Association of Washington Historical Society.
